Globe Win Friday’s Ricki Noel Lander Bakeoff

January 26, 2013

Friday’s Boston Globe won the Robert Kraft Girlfriend Sweepstakes with this minimally juicy item:

lander43cropLander at postseason premiere of ‘Movie 43’

Ricki Noel Lander, also known as Patriots owner Bob Kraft’s girlfriend, walked the red carpet at the Hollywood premiere of “Movie 43” on Wednesday night. Lander has two small parts in the ensemble comedy, which was co-directed by Rhode Island’s own Peter Farrelly. Also at the screening were Farrelly’s pal (and Martha’s Vineyard regular) Larry David and Boston-bred actor Neal McDonough.

Friday’s Boston Herald landered no such story.

To be fair, though, the Herald’s Track Gals (without Megan!) did have Bruins Ice Girls Kasey of Stoneham and Emilie of Attleboro prepping for Night at the Fights at the Garden.

Once again, the local dailies battle to a tie.

Sweet.

Cash ‘n’ Kerry (Patriots Playoff Edition)

January 15, 2013

So there was Sen. John Kerry (D-Am I Secretary of State Yet?) at Gillette Stadium rubbing elbows in the owner’s box with Robert Kraft and, presumably, girlfriend Ricki Noel Landed – sorry, Lander – and rubbing etc. on the field with Bill Belichick.

Clearly this called for some scrutiny by the local dailies and, true to form, they dug right in.

The Boston Globe’s Glen Johnson went this way (web only):

DownloadedFileStaff says John Kerry paid fair market value for tickets in Patriots owner Robert Kraft’s suite

The CBS Sports cameras made their traditional game-day pan of the owner’s box at Gillette Stadium on Sunday, catching not just Robert Kraft but also one of his highly recognizable guests: Senator John Kerry.

That prompted instant questions about how Kerry ended up in such rarified air, and whether the secretary of state-to-be paid his fair share to attend.

His staff insists he did.

To the tune of a whopping $191 – “what the team determined to be fair market value .”

Uh-huh.

Meanwhile, the Boston Herald’s Track Gals (without Megan!) went this way:

W4ST8035.JPGReaders real sports about John Kerry’s Bill blitz

So you think you’re pret-tay, pret-tay funny, don’t you?

Our request yesterday for an amusing caption for this photo of Sen.John Kerry bear-hugging Patriots coach Bill Belichick on the sidelines before the AFC semifinal at Gillette Stadium was met with a few funnies.

We’re partial to one sent in via Twitter by political strategist
@Jake1839, who imagined the secretary of state-in-waiting whispering into BB’s ear, “I’m gonna need defense advice when I get to Washington.”

Ha!

As we said, true to form.

Globe More Krafty Than Herald

September 10, 2012

From our Ricki Noel Lander (Or Is That Landing?) desk

As the hardworking staff at Campaign Outsider has noted, the Huffington Post caught Bob Kraft and galpal Ricki Noel Lander at the U.S. Open yesterday.

So the hardreading staff looked to see which of the two local dailies would feature the lovebirds today.

Surprise! Not the one you’re thinking.

From the Boston Globe’s Names column:

Bob Kraft, Ricki Noel Lander hit US Open

Patriots owner Bob Kraft and actress girlfriend Ricki Noel Lander were among the recognizable faces at the US Open tennis tournament in New York over the weekend. Lander has a tiny part the January release “Movie 43,” which features big names such as as Elizabeth BanksKate WinsletEmma Stone, and Richard Gere. Kraft was spotted with one of his other favorite companions, Jon Bon Jovi, at the Pats game in Tennessee on Sunday.

Not as lovey-dovey in that pic, eh?

(As the Track Gals (and Megan!) might say) File Under: Alone together.

Bob Kraft/Ricki Noel Lander (Or Is That “Landed”) Edition

August 14, 2012

Patriots owner/Myra Kraft widower Robert Kraft is once again “upon the Town!” (to borrow from James McNeill Whistler’s legendary Ten O’Clock lecture, which you should absolutely read).

Via the decidedly less august Boston Herald Inside Track:

Hanging in the Hamptons

Patriots bigwig Bob Kraft and his lovely lady friend Ricki Noel Lander hit Pharrell Williams’ annual ‘Apollo in the Hamptons’ fundraiser Saturday night. The event for the legendary New York theater drew a crew of boldfacers including Usher, Jennifer Hudson and the Isley Brothers. The Pats poohbah spent the rest of the weekend at his house on the Cape, where he was spotted on a paddle board, sans Ricki.

Sans Ricki, avec Ricki – this is just wrong.

The Boston Globe didn’t have this story.

Good for them.
